Electric Power with Purpose
At EClass Outboards, we believe innovation should extend beyond performance — it should create real social impact. As Australia’s electric outboard pioneer and a finalist in the 2024 Maritime Industry Awards for Innovation, we develop technology that not only redefines marine propulsion but also supports communities where affordable, clean marine power can transform livelihoods.
Our electric repower kits have been applied in international pilot projects where traditional petrol outboards are costly and difficult to sustain. In Senegal, EClass collaborated with local partners and international sponsors to train marine mechanics to retrofit conventional outboard casings with electric powertrains, empowering tourism and fishing operators while reducing reliance on expensive fuels and diverting motors from landfill. Similarly, in the Solomon Islands, EClass retrofit technology is being trialled to enable small vessel operators to leverage solar-charged electric propulsion, demonstrating a path toward cleaner, more affordable water transport in remote island communities.

We actively support knowledge exchange by working with local mechanics, international development partners and innovation networks to expand electric boating access. By combining Australian ingenuity with global engagement, EClass champions a model of marine electrification that is technically excellent, socially conscious and practical for communities around the world.

Global Impact Projects
EClass electric outboards and repower technology are being applied in real-world projects in regions where fuel costs are high and access to clean energy is transformative. Work in Senegal and the Solomon Islands demonstrates how electric marine propulsion can support livelihoods, reduce operating costs and enable cleaner transport in remote and developing communities.

Recognition & Industry Leadership
EClass’s approach to electric propulsion and social impact has been recognised by the Australian marine industry, including receiving Highly Commended in 2024.

Training & Skills Transfer
Our social enterprise model prioritises knowledge sharing and local capability building. By training marine mechanics to install and service electric repower kits, EClass helps create long-term skills, employment pathways and sustainable maintenance solutions beyond the lifespan of any single project.
